Remember Judge Roy Moore, the Alabama judge who was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall? Well, my friend Bonnie forwarded me a reminder about this awesome judge and the poem he wrote. I think you might appreciate it.
America the
beautiful,
Or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.
Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
Your house is on the sand.
Our children wander aimlessly
Poisoned by cocaine
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
When God has said abstain
From sea to shining sea,
Our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
And a need to always pray
We've kept God in our Temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
And Heaven is His throne.
We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges;
Who throw reason out the door,
Too soft to place a killer
In a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
Before he leaves the womb.
You think that God's not Angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
Before His judgment comes?
How are we to face our God,
From Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
But stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children,
Will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
And mend our evil way:
Then God will hear from Heaven;
And forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
And those who live within.
But, America the Beautiful,
If you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
Withdraw His hand from Thee..
~~Judge Roy Moore~~
The 10th & 11th stanzas are a direct reference to the scripture that I recently chose for my new email signature:
To Judge Roy Moore,
The land of the free?
How is it that in the span of about 30 years our country’s values and protection through the Constitution has been so terribly polluted that it has come to the point that our children can’t even say God’s name in school, but they can quote the Koran freely. The ACLU pays lawyers the big bucks to corrupt and distort the one thing that has kept our nation together as one, and yet still remain the melting pot of the world. We (The American people) have lived here for approximately 233 years knowing that our government cannot and will not make her peoples follow a religion that they do not wish to follow. The constitution being the foundation of our country’s very being was enriched with our Christian God’s blessings, yet it made it very clear that no other religion would be harassed by any part of her peoples. Please see the following phrase from the first amendment.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
How is it that the ACLU has changed this most wonderful of documents to mean that Christian people cannot share their beliefs in public? And if you look close it is only the Christian beliefs that are being attacked by them. Maybe it is because the Constitution itself is enriched with the blessing of our most loved Christian God. They (ACLU) has not only stopped our children from praying in school and have made it illegal for them to even speak of their God, but they have even gone so far as to say that our children cannot say the Pledge Of Allegiance because it mentions God’s name. It seems to me that these people who are taking away our “Religious” rights as Americans seem to be forgetting that the same amendment that guarantees our right to worship whomever we choose; also guarantees us our freedom of speech. Which the ACLU has somehow changed the meaning of say that “Speech is the beginning of thought.” Now I don’t know about anyone else, but I remember my parents and grandparents always telling me to think before I speak. Speech has nothing to do with the thought process, and yet they are changing major things in our country by this simple little tongue twister. This is what the law says.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Our most awesome of nations cannot say that certain government offices be filled with certain religions,(And that is as it should be.) But for those who have different beliefs or have no beliefs at all should not be able to take away the rights of those who are Christian. There is nothing that I love more than my God and my Country, and I have shown that by giving most of my life serving in the world’s greatest military. My country is my life, and I will do everything that I can to help protect her from enemies from other countries and from within. With all of our protections from peoples who want to try and change everything just for the sake of change. Why is it for those who just cannot live with the sight of God’s name on our money or hearing his name outside of church just seems to hurt them so badly; why is it that they have not been told that as an American citizen they have the right to leave and never come back if it hurts them so badly? Any other country on this planet already tells people this.
So please! The next time you hear someone wanting to take away your rights that are guaranteed by our Constitution; please stand up and fight for your God given rights as an American to believe in whom you wish, and to say the things you wish.
And as always...May God Bless America!
